Luke Ramsey is one of the founding members of Islands Fold, an artist residency located on Pender Island, B.C, Canada. Luke has collaborated with over 100 different artists to date, exhibits internationally, and performs in a project called Radical Trust. Luke’s work is about finding harmony in organized chaos.

“I believe that everything in this life is connected in some way. To try and absorb all of the information that exists is overwhelming. I treat my drawings like a glimpse into that chaos. I organize my creations into a finished place. It’s like recycling mess. Instead of throwing it away or letting it create clutter, I try to re-arrange it and make it look different and fresh. It’s always the same junk, just put together in a different way. I believe in re-new as opposed to things always being new. Consumer culture’s low attention span leads to “new” things being pumped out at the expense of quality. This is usually done in favour of quantity to make money and feed popularity. It happens with art all the time. I respect the virtual and technological world. I recognize its importance. But I also fear humanity’s disconnect with the natural and living world. I’m amazed at how much time we spend looking at boxes, and living in them too.”

This print is made in-house using archival pigment inks on heavyweight 100% cotton fibre archival paper. Each print is custom-trimmed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
